POLISHED STONE
|
Step 1: Intensive Cleaning
Clean and remove grout film and
construction dirt with HMK R55 Intensive Cleaner. This cleaner is specially formulated to
remove grout residue, construction dirt, soil and light wax
coats. Under good conditions 300 square feet can be cleaned at a
time. The HMK R55 solution is applied to the surface and worked
with equipment which is designed to agitate and remove surface
debris for 30 minutes. When this is complete the surface is flood
rinsed and the material along with the debris is extracted.
|
Step 2: Diamond Honing
Scratches and etch marks are
removed form the surface. Starting with 30 grit diamond pads and
honing to 8500 grit (depending on the surface). Then the surface
is polished with abrasive powder to close the pores of the stone
(only a white pad is used). This process is identical to that
used to polish stone before sent from the quarry to the vendor
and laid by the installer.

We provide detailed training in
the art of restoring polished stone. This is a 4 step supervised
process which will result in a surface that is equal to the
natural sheen and elegance of the stone when it was purchased and
installed.

|
Step 3: Impregnator /
Sealer
HMK S32 or
P2 Impregnator is
applied by sprayer and worked with a 175 RPM floor machine. This
silicon impregnator chemically bonds with the stone hardening
it's surface preventing staining from tap water, oil, grease,
spills or surface moisture.
|
Step 4: On Going
Maintenance
Routine cleaning should be done
with pH Neutral stone soaps and conditioners. This will guarantee
lasting beauty and appearance of the stone. Only pH-7
Neutral 100% no-rinse
products should be used. The "no-rinse" feature insures
the conditioning that is essential for any natural material. To
remove traffic patterns, powder polishing with 5 Extra Compound
must be used. It is an abrasive compound of Neutral pH that is
worked with a 175 RPM Floor machine.
