TEXTURED STONE
|
Step 1: Intensive Cleaning
This step is generally reserved
for post construction sites that require intensive cleaning and
protection. First we clean and remove grout film and construction
dirt with HMK R55 Intensive Cleaner. This cleaner is specially formulated to
remove grout residue, construction dirt, soil and light wax
coats. Under good conditions 300 square feet can be cleaned at a
time. The HMK R55 solution is applied to the surface and worked
with equipment which is designed to agitate and remove surface
debris for 30 minutes. When this is complete the surface is flood
rinsed and the material along with the debris is extracted.
Before going on to step 2 the surface must be allowed to dry for
24 hours!

Our process is a three
step procedure which ranges from post construction
intensive cleaning to restoration and on-going
maintenance. The specific program for each natural stone
surface will vary due to the condition of the stone
and/or the stage of construction.
The procedures outlined
here are preformed following time honored steps used by
professional in the quarries to cut and hone their stone products. It will
return the stones natural texture and feel causing the
the stone material to appear as they did when they were
initially installed. At the same time the stone surface
will be tightened to prevent further damage, promote a
natural healing from harsh solvents, and slow the stone's
continued wear. You will find that the results obtained
from this three step process will provide a clean natural
texture that is safe for both the environment and the
people who live and work in it. |

Step 2: Impregnator
P2 Impregnator,
is applied to the surface. This
product is a solvent free water-based impregnator for
interior and exterior use on all polished marble and limestone and other
acid-sensitive surfaces. P2 provides exceptional protection against water, dirt,
grease and is easily applied and leaves the stone looking natural. Free of
silicone and waxes P2 bonds with the stone.

Step 3: On Going
Maintenance
Routine cleaning should be done
with pH Neutral stone soaps and conditioners. This will guarantee
lasting beauty and appearance of the stone. Only pH-7 Neutral
100% no-rinse products should be used. The "no-rinse"
feature insures the conditioning that is essential for any
natural material. Under most conditions thorough cleaning is
completed once ever 9 to12 months. This will remove any residue
build up of the conditioner and stone soap maintenance products.

Important Notes:
Industry Neutral (pH 8-9) are much
too harsh and will damage the natural polish while discoloring
the stone over a period of time. Any surface coating such as wax
and acrylics are softer than the textured stone. Therefore these
products scratch and wear faster. They also cause build up,
scuff, yellow and trap dirt. They tend to be slippery and end up
having to be replaced over time.
